Zou Lei is a professor at the Wang Xuan Institute of Computer Technology, Peking University.
Lei Zou worked as an Associated Professor (Aug 2012 – Aug 2017), and as an Assistant Professor (Oct 2009 - Jul 2012) at Wangxuan Institute of Computer Technology, Peking University. He visited Univerity of Waterloo (Oct. 2008-Oct.2009),and visited Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Dec. 2006-June. 2007). He received his B.Sc. Degree and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2003 and 2009, respectively.
Lei Zou current research focuses on graph database, knowledge graph, hardware-accelerated graph computing systems and their applications in big data analysis. He has published over 50 academic papers at domestic and international conferences and journals, including more than 30 papers in top-tier CCF-A-class journals/conferences in the field of databases. He has led the development of gStore, a graph database system for knowledge graph data, as well as gBuilder, a knowledge graph automated construction platform, and gAnswer, a knowledge graph question answering platform. The open-source versions of gStore and gAnswer have been downloaded over ten thousand times within one year.
In 2014, Zou Lei's project "Research on Storage and Query Optimization Theory for Massive Graph-Structured Data" received the Second Prize in Natural Science from the China Computer Federation, with Zou Lei ranking first. In 2017, his project "Large-Scale Management of Graph-Structured Data" received the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award, with Zou Lei ranking first. Zou Lei has led key projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, Excellent Young Scholar Program, National Key Research and Development Program, as well as the NSFC-Royal Society Advanced Visiting Scholar Program (Sino-UK Talent Program), and has been involved in several industry-sponsored projects.
